Noticing Requires Us to Be Present

When we are present, we are more likely to notice. What we notice depends on our lens.

I recently shared my story from the C-Suite to Red Chair Ranch to a roomful of professionals. Throughout the talk, I shared how being present to what I was noticing led me to make some bold decisions that required a lot of courage.

I talked about how I felt and noticed things within me that I could not ignore.

Well, I guess I could have. But had I done that, I am not sure how it would have impacted my well being. To be honest.

I believe that I was more open to noticing because my lens was one of being curious about the change that was meant to emerge.

Had I not been open to it, I may not have noticed what I did.

In a number of conversations I have had recently, there seems to be many people who are noticing something within them.

A feeling.

A curiosity.

A re-occurring thought.

Sensing the need to figure ‘something’ out.

In our busy lives, it can be very easy for us to not be present.

Present to a feeling.

Present to the thoughts that we have.

Our busy-ness keeps us from being honest with ourselves.

From noticing information.

How we are acting. Or how others are acting.

How we are feeling. Or how others are feeling.

What we are creating for ourselves.

How we are impacting what others are creating for them.

This relates to us as professionals.

As leaders.

As human beings.

The space of Red Chair and Red Chair Ranch offers individuals and teams time to slow down, be present and notice.

It requires courageous curiosity.

It is meant for those who want to move forward with intention and purpose.

So they can create the outcomes they desire, in a way that is in alignment with their values.

Are your curious?

Let’s chat.
