Courage. Love. Leadership.
This morning, the Red Chair Ranch herd hosted a coaching client.
It was our first client since the herd moved home to Red Chair Ranch.
It was the first time this spring that they have been asked to work as coaches.
As with any coaching conversation, we begin by getting clear about what the individual wants coaching on today.
As we get clarity on the focus for our session, I share how horses provide a safe, neutral space where we can access our emotions, pay attention to our energy, and explore how we may be holding ourselves back.
We then start to spend time with the horses. There are a few steps in this process. Each one has the potential for increased awareness and understanding about oneself.
Before you go into the round pen with your equine coach, I ask what you want to experience with your horse.
This may sound a little odd. Fair enough.
It all has the potential to be pretty powerful. I have experienced it myself as a client and seen it over and over again as the human coach.
Throughout the process, I have to trust that the coaching topic, the experience the client wants to have with their horse, and what actually happens in the round pen, connect.
I haven’t had a session yet where they do not.
I trust my training. I trust my intuition. And I trust my horses.
Today, the focus on courage, love, and leadership, wove together beautifully.
Annie did her job well as she always does. She provided a very visceral experience for a stunning woman, who seeing herself in Annie, found voice, courage and love.
Jack held space and celebrated with us when there was a breakthrough.
As Annie and Jack returned to their herd, I witnessed the horses rolling and then running through the pen. You see, while Annie and Jack were in the round pens coaching, Blaze and Rose, back in the pen, were acutely aware of what was happening.
It was a beautiful site to see them roll and run around the pen, releasing energy so they could ‘go back to grazing’.
Us humans then debriefed a morning filled with many layers of awareness and release.
She looked different when she left.
Felt different than when she arrived.
And left with some clear actions she will take as a woman who leads.
Are you ready to spend some time with the Red Chair Ranch herd?
Individual coaching sessions are one way to focus on yourself as a leader, a professional and a human being. Send me a note to explore what that can look like for you.
A small group 1 day retreat at Red Chair Ranch is a great to spend time with your golfing foursome, work colleagues or a group of friends. Choose from two dates in August.
My herd and I look forward to welcoming you to Red Chair Ranch
